Our Insurance Schemes

Private Commercial Health

Private commercial insurance schemes are operated by private companies, it is registered as limited liability company under the Companies Act of The Gambia and licensed by the authority for it to operate.

Private Mutual Health

Private mutual health insurance scheme can be operated by private and communities but not by Government, it is registered as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Act of The Gambia; and it is licensed by the Commissioner of Insurance..

Membership of the Scheme

A resident of The Gambia shall register with the Scheme within two years of the coming into force of the National Health Insurance Act, 2021 and a resident in the Gambia, who is not a member of a private health insurance scheme, shall be a member of the scheme.
